Anglobond™ PVA is ready to use and is suitable for a widerange of building jobs. It is not only an excellent adhesive, but also a highly effective primer, admixture, bonding agent and dustproofer. It is economical, suitable for interior use and dry service conditions.

PREPARATION AND GENERAL USE

Surfaces must be dry, clean, free from grease, dust or loose material. The PVA can be applied by brush, roller, spreader or from a squeezable plastic bottle. Bonding work must be done when the adhesive is still wet or tacky, but when using as a primer the PVA must be allowed to dry.

APPLICATION

Plastering To bond new plaster to porous surfaces (old plaster, concrete etc.): Prime the surface with 1 part PVA – 5 parts water. When dry, coat the surface with a mixture of 3 parts PVA – 1 part water and while still wet or tacky apply the plaster. To bond new plaster to nonporous surfaces i.e. glazed tiles: Apply an undiluted coat of PVA and while still wet or tacky apply the plaster. Concrete or Mortar Applications For small areas and gap filling: Prime the surface with a uniform mixture of 1 part PVA – 5 parts water. For larger areas: Prime and when dry, coat the surface with 3 parts PVA – 1 part water (in both cases whilst still wet or tacky, trowel on a normal mixture of mortar or concrete). To seal concrete floors: Apply one or two coats of 1 part PVA – 5 parts water. Bonding To bond all types of wood under dry conditions: Apply a mixture of 5 parts PVA – 1 part water to each surface and clamp together. For close fitting joints coat only one surface. Under normal conditions joints can be handled carefully after 1 hour although setting times may vary with porosity and atmospheric conditions. To obtain a longer open time (above method is usually 10 mins): Prime with a mixture of 1 part PVA – 5 parts water. When dry apply adhesive coat. Tiling This PVA is also ideal for priming porous surfaces prior to wall tiling.

DRYING TIMES

Sealing concrete floors Leave final coat to dry thoroughly (usually 8 hours) before allowing foot traffic. Priming Dries after approx 1 hour. Bonding Maximum strenght is obtained in 24 hours.
